In the future I hope to add more essays, both past and present, as I find and/or write them. As for these past writings, I showed great restraint in not altering them, they stand as they were first pressed. Although I wish I were a poet, I am not. Eloquence with words is not one of my gifts, but something to strive for. To compound things I think I tend to take on concepts too large - ah ambition. That being said I do love them and the ideas-both mine and what I'm trying to comprehend. I see my struggle. My main one being -What is Art? I have finally come to resolution, and I find I am not far from were I began. In short I would define Art as anything created to express and/or evoke perception and/or emotion. I hope to expand more in the future on these ideas and how it directly relates to my theories on Architecture. I am so intrigued by the schism between modernism/ serialism and expression/deconstructivism. As with many, in Architecture school I was pummeled with the modernist dogma. Luckily not all professors preached it. but I have broken free and as most am searching for my language towards the new pluralistic/ heterogeneous society.
